Repair Cafe

Rebranding for good

  • This was a university project in which a member of the Repair Cafe in Belfast came in and set us the task to rebrand their business.

  • This was a solo project in which I completed the following:

    • Conducted the research

    • Concepts & ideas

    • Branding

    • Mock Ups

  • To justify my project, I had to conduct extensive research, including surveys, analysing competitors, and reviewing the statistics related to mental health and exercise.

From this, I discovered that 2 in 5 people avoid the gym as they feel self-conscious, and 1 in 10 people say that their mental health is preventing them from joining a gym. This shows that there is a need to create a gym for those who would usually feel out of place there and for those who struggle with their mental health. I aimed to create a gym with a fun, inclusive, and non-judgmental atmosphere so that all can feel welcome. Mental health is a priority, as well as the promotion of body positivity.

For a more in-depth look at the process, please review my development work below.

  • I created the Hebe Hotel, a sleepover and ‘girls night inn’ themed location of your teenage dreams.  Named after the Greek goddess of youth, it is the hottest spot for all the girlies who want to relive the nostalgia of the 90s/00s and feel like a carefree teen again. This project is inspired by 90s/00s music, magazines and pop culture to transport you back in time.
