The tale of lí Ban
an Irish fairy tale for children
-
This was a project from my time on Erasmus. I was given the task to create an illustrated children’s story book using NO TECHNOLOGY. Everything had to be made with your hands, no laptops, phones or iPads allowed.
-
This was a solo project in which I completed the following:
Research
Planning
Illustration
Creative writing
Editing
Book making
-
Discover - I decided to explore Irish folklore for this project and researched lessser known stories from home.
Develop - I experimented with different materials, art styles and even paper to create my book. I wrote this version of the story myself with a rhyming style.
Deliver - I handwrite, drew and stuck the book together.
-
The outcome was a hand-drawn children’s book. I wrote the story out in a Celtic typeface to represent the history of Ireland.
I got the opportunity to have my work in the Weserburg Museum of Modern Art and got to present it to the visitors of the exhibition.
